Ella Ronen releases new single, «Truth»!
Following the release of 'The Girl With No Skin', Swiss-Israeli singer-songwriter Ella Ronen releases today her second single, 'Truth'. The story behind this track is as follows: For a 16-year-old girl living in an Israeli suburb, Tel Aviv was the whole world. At a bar notorious for allowing underage drinking, a well-known poet and journalist started chatting with Ella. He then invited her to his place and attacked her. She narrowly managed to escape. Years later, Ronen, an adult, artist and activist, was involved in the publication of a major report that finally revealed him as a predator. “Truth” was written in the tensed days leading up to this publication.
It's a captivating track with a sustained congas rhythm played by Elizabeth Pupo Walker (Elvis Costello, Mark Ronson, John Legend, etc.), an acoustic guitar and a psychedelic touch. Recorded in New York and produced by Sam Cohen, “Truth” is once again a powerful single, both lyrically and musically, with a stunning vocal performance and delicate alt-pop arrangements.
