Emmon teams up with Agent Side Grinder for new remix of “Relics” – accompanied by official cyberpunk video

EMMON, the solo project of Swedish artist Emma Nylén, has become a prominent name on the electronic music scene in Sweden and is rapidly gaining recognition across Europe. With a career spanning over two decades, she’s established herself as a leading figure in genres like EBM, Electro, and Synth, often hailed as Sweden’s “electro queen.”EMMON returns with Agent Side Grinder remix of Relics – accompanied by official video for the original track

Following the two released remixes of Speak to Me (SIIE and The Foreign Resort Remixes), Swedish Electro/EBM queen EMMON continues the journey toward her upcoming remix album ICONMIXED with Relics (Agent Side Grinder Remix), released on August 14 via Icons Creating Evil Art.

Originally featured on EMMON’s 2025 album ICON, Relics now receives a striking transformation at the hands of fellow Swedish electronic pioneers Agent Side Grinder.

Agent Side Grinder were at the forefront of the Swedish post-punk revival of the 2010s, establishing their distinctive sound with albums such as Hardware and Alkimia. Following a revamped line-up in 2017, the band ventured further into electronic territory while retaining the unmistakable core of their sound. Their influence has subsequently travelled well beyond Sweden: younger bands including Molchat Doma have cited Agent Side Grinder as an inspiration, while electronic music icons Front 242 have also praised the band.

The connection between EMMON and Agent Side Grinder runs deeper than the remix itself. Agent Side Grinder vocalist Emanuel Åström also lends his voice to the original version of Relics, making this remix a natural continuation of the collaboration.

For Relics, Agent Side Grinder take EMMON’s EBM-driven original somewhere rather unexpected, steering it towards the dancefloors of the 1990s with LinnDrum rhythms, Euro disco and squelching acid basslines. Agent Side Grinder comments on revisiting a song that already featured vocalist Emanuel Åström alongside EMMON:
- “Had a great time remixing my dear friend Emmon (and a certain obscure guest singer). I took the EBM-driven original and pushed it in a more ’90s house direction, with LinnDrum, a Euro disco riff and plenty of acid basslines. Hope you enjoy it!”
The remix offers another glimpse of ICONMIXED, due for release on October 23, an album built entirely around new interpretations of tracks from EMMON’s acclaimed ICON. Bringing together different voices from the electronic underground, the project opens up the world of ICON and allows its songs to mutate into new forms while retaining the identity of the originals.
