Empara Mi releases stunning new song 'WYGD (3AM)'

Empara Mi has released the brand new song ‘WYGD (3AM)’. The track is a stunning piano version of her highly praised single ‘WYGD’ from the mini-album Suitcase Full Of Sins released earlier this year. ‘WYGD (3AM)’ is a jaw-dropping example of Empara Mi’s commanding vocals, delivering great depth with only a beautiful backing of piano keys.

The new song was inspired by lockdown confinement as Empara Mi explains, “Earlier this year I was rehearsing for my first live show. I didn’t think it was going to be from my living room, but you know...

“A full production just didn’t make sense so I wanted to make more stripped back versions of my tracks to work for live streaming. I loved how ‘WYGD’ was sounding acoustically so I produced and recorded a version at home to release to go along with my other stripped back releases I like to call (3AM)’s.

“The artwork was shot in my garden which involved a real bonfire and me nearly setting light to my boyfriend which the neighbours enjoyed. I made the video as a representation of my mind-set some nights, but most nights during lockdown at about (3AM), a continuous cycle of nonsensical anxieties and endless nights of staring at the ceiling. Getting the birds eye view I wanted was particularly hard as I had to strap my iPhone to the ceiling but the random green cloth I found in my cupboard did double as a half successful green screen so that was pretty lucky!”

The powerful single ‘WYGD’ features on the highly acclaimed mini-album Suitcase Full Of Sins, a record that showcases Empara Mi’s captivating artistic journey so far, from her 2016 debut ‘Wanderlust’ right through to brand new songs including the likes of ‘Shout’ and ‘Blood In The Water’.
