Entering Polaris releases new video single “Heresy”

Tom Tee: “The very first single (and opening track!) for the new double-album – and it's a RIPPER (pun absolutely intended)! I wanted to explore some Dark Fantasy territory here, and being a classic PC gamer, I always wanted to try my hand at writing a fast, thrashy, scorching and exciting Metal track about some of my all-time favourite first-person shooter games; namely the HERETIC & HEXEN series. Molded firmly in the vein of old Iced Earth, Testament and Symphony X, the song takes you through many different sections and along loads of unexpected twists and turns – just like playing one of these old shooter classics ;-)

Interesting to note is that this “single-version” of the song has a pretty extensively edited structure when compared to the version that’s on the album (the latter being more than FOUR MINUTES (!) longer and clocking in at more than nine minutes in total)! What’s there to discover in the “full” and un-edited version? That’s for you to find out on the album =)”

HERESY’ is the 1st video single for the new double-release and features TIM "RIPPER" OWENS (JUDAS PRIEST, KK'S PRIEST, ICED EARTH) & SINDRE NEDLAND (IN VAIN) on vocals.

The two new records are two very different sides of the same coin – one is electric, energetic, heavy and progressive, while the other is acoustic, haunting and melancholic, with piano, (real) string sections, choirs and classical percussion.

The brand new Progressive Metal double-album, featuring 19 songs and more than 1,5 hours of music, will be released on 2 CDs and as a luxury 3-LP trifold package.

The vinyl edition is limited to 250 copies

Working as a guitarist, producer and songwriter in a host of bands through the years, such as Ostrogoth, Thorium and others, Tom Tee launched Entering Polaris in 2018 with the debut album ‘Godseed’. The idea behind Entering Polaris is to realise a long overdue dream: creating music that not only unites influences from all the kinds of music Tom has loved since his teenage years, but which also brings together a plethora of stunning vocalists from all across the scene.

Due to the large number of songs that are continuously being written – and born from the aspiration to up the ante and take the bold and ambitious route – the decision was made to write and produce not one, not two or even three, but four full-length albums in one year.

These records are:

  • Album 1: Atlantean Shores – six-string guitars; melodic/progressive Metal
  • Album 2: And Silently the Age Did Pass – fully acoustic; dark and atmospheric
  • Album 3: Myths in Motion – seven-string guitars; modern, heavy and progressive
  • Album 4: Songs of Ivory and Obsidian – all piano; delicate and emotional

The first two of these records were released in June 2023, comprising the albums ‘Atlantean Shores’ & ‘And Silently The Age Did Pass’.
