Fews share video for Business Man

Following the recently released track Business Man, today FEWS are pleased to share the accompanying video ahead of a short run of European shows in October.

Writing and demoing new material, following a self-imposed hiatus of sorts and utilising the local studio of friend / producer Joakim Lindberg - the quartet are now fully ensconced in Malmö, Sweden. Shot in the city and directed by Maxim Kelly, the video for the single provides the perfect partner to the band’s new-found path whilst alluding to what to expect of the follow-up to 2016’s debut album Means which is slated for a 2019 release.

The video utilises the city’s urban backdrop interspersed with rehearsal footage creating a suitably apt backdrop for this brooding return. Fully immersed in its creative underbelly, Malmö has had a creative impact on the band – that was seen and heard on a brief run of rapturously received shows earlier this summer.

Detailing the process behind the video, director Kelly explains: "Anyone who has had the pleasure of watching FEWS live will attest to the veracity of their live performance. The intention was to create a straightforward, confident and authentic video for Business Man. Trying to capture the energy of that stage performance combined with a snapshot of everyday life in Malmö and a more intimate view of their off-stage personalities."

Fall-like rhythms and riffage converge, tussling with haunted, compelling Wurlitzer tones whilst lacking none of their renowned fervour. Mixed by James Dring (Gorillaz, Loyle Carner, Nilufer Yanya) Business Man acts as the perfect foil to older tracks and further shows the band’s dynamic trajectory together with the benefit of rehearsals that don’t involve three-hour flights and the distractions of London. An explosive sonic blast that sees FEWS extricating their influences and experiences to create their own path, one that appears to mirror the prominent, newly revealed confidence evident since the move northwards.
