In 2018, after an 11-year hiatus, melodic death/thrash band Final Cry marked their return with the album "Zombique". Known for being the rawest and heaviest release in their discography, this album stands out for its thematic exploration of voodoo cults and zombie lore, drawing from the historical narratives of Caribbean slaves and the Haitian revolution. The album features guitarist Eiko Truckenbrodt, who also took over vocal duties, lending his deep growls to enrich the brutal soundscape.

Produced by Jost Schlüter at Pure Sonic Studios, "Zombique" captures the band's distinctive sound through merciless riffing, high tempo, and intricate melodies, amplified by Truckenbrodt's signature guitar solos. Originally self-released and selling over 1,000 copies, this album is now being reissued worldwide with updated cover artwork through MDD Records.
