Fire Talk Announce Tonstartssbandht Reissues, Share New “5FT7” Video

Fire Talk (Cola, Deeper, Bnny) presents three early Tonstartssbandht albums – 2009’s An When and Dick Nights, and 2011’s Hymn – reissued today (digitally) and July 15th (physically). This is the first time Dick Nights and Hymn will receive vinyl pressings. In conjunction, they present a new video for the band’s hit single “5Ft7,” featuring live performance footage from the era in which the records were made.

An When, Dick Nights, and Hymn are snapshots from the earliest days of Florida brothers Edwin and Andy White’s vast 18 album catalog, each depicting a distinct moment in Tonstartssbandht’s evolution. Following the release of their latest record, Petunia, the reissued recordings feel both transcendent and intimate; a portal into a lineage of music filled with possibility and exploratory wonder.

“We self-released these three albums in the early days of Tonstartssbandht, our cherished ‘Montreal era,’” the band explains. “Now, over a decade later, we are very happy to bring them back into print. For two of these albums (Dick Nights and Hymn) it is their first time on vinyl. They were made in the late aughts and early '10s, over a period of time when we first started to feel like a real band. Working at times both separately and together, we began to feed all of our energy into this new project, witnessing our own style begin to evolve, and putting our faith in each other that this is what we want to do."
