Francis Mercier, ElGrandeToto, Faul & Wad, and African Children’s Choir unite on “Sauti vs. Diplomatico”
Born in Haiti and raised in New York, Francis Mercier has become a global ambassador for house music with a distinctly multi-cultural approach, blending afro, deep, and melodic styles into a rich and uplifting sonic palette. On August 22, he delivers a special reimagining of his anthemic single “Sauti” via Insomniac Records, fusing the foundation that he laid down alongside multi-platinum French duo Faul & Wad and Grammy-nominated African Children’s Choir with the Midas touch of Moroccan rap star ElGrandeToto.
This unique mashup bridges cultures and continents, weaving together the heartwarming choral harmonies of “Sauti” with the husky verses and infectious hooks from ElGrandeToto’s hit “Diplomatico” - a standout from his acclaimed SALGOAT album. The resulting track finds perfect harmony between the children-led gospel refrains and the rapper’s magnetic delivery, all carried by Sauti’s beaming, piano-laced afro house groove.
The release follows the announcement of the “Sauti (Remixes)” package, featuring fresh interpretations from Massala, Jawora, and Lee Burridge. With “Diplomatico” amassing over 26M streams and “Sauti” approaching 49M streams, the pairing is already primed for global impact.
What began as a casual edit in his sets quickly became a viral sensation, uniting MENA communities and sparking dancefloor euphoria worldwide. The track’s unifying spirit is further embodied in Solèy, Mercier’s new Ibiza residency at Club Chinois—named after the Haitian Creole word for “sun,” symbolizing the warmth and positivity at the core of his global sound.
The release lands in the middle of Mercier’s ‘Neverending Summer’ World Tour, which includes stops at California Plaza in Los Angeles, Tension Electronic Music Festival, Sziget Festival, Burning Man, Electric Island, iii Points, ADE, and his Solèy residency in Ibiza.
Francis Mercier, ElGrandeToto, Faul & Wad, and African Children's Choir “Sauti vs. Diplomatico” is available August 22 on Insomniac Records.
