French Electro-Rock Duo La Phaze to Re-Release Legendary "Pungle Roads" Album!

La Phaze are a legendary French electro-rock group whose style draws from drum’n’bass and punk rock in particular.

Damny Baluteau (vocals, keyboards, bass) and Arnaud Fournier (guitar) founded the group in 1999 with the idea of synthesizing drum’n’bass and guitar-driven rock into an electro-rock style that could be performed live. Following the addition of DJ Mouf on turntables, La Phaze made their commercial recording debut in 2000 with Cushy Time, a six-track EP released on the Jarring Effects label. A couple years later the group recorded their debut full-length album titled Pungle Roads (2002) for the label The Modern Things. Pungle Roads was released in France in 2002, and would be his first international record of La Phaze.

Pungle Roads is now re-released on French indie labels Atypeek Music and Bruillance as a special limited edition vinyl.

2003 marked the release of a remix album titled Punglistic Mixture on the Small Axe label. In 2004 Aurélien Walter (aka DJ Nevrax) replaced DJ Mouf on turntables, and the group proceeded to release their second full-length album, Fin de Cycle (2005), on Because Music, one of the premier French independent labels. Former Superbus group member Guillaume Roussé (aka Rouzman; drums) then replaced Walter for the third La Phaze album, Miracle (2008), which, like its predecessor, was released on Because Music and hit the French albums charts. Their fourth album Psalms And Revolutions was released in 2011, after a long 2 years tour the band decided to split up.

Years later, in 2018, Damny and Arnaud along with newcomer Speaker Louis joined forces and the new La Phaze was born again! After a summer tour, they recorded the new album Visible(s) that will be released in October 2020 on french label At(h)ome.
