French instrumental post-rock/sludge duo Rostres set new album "Rongent d'une clameur confuse" for November
French instrumental project ROSTRES will release its new album "Rongent d'une clameur confuse" on November 13th, 2026. The record is a co-production between Celestine Records, Araki Records and 1724 Records and will be available digitally and on LP.
"Rongent d'une clameur confuse" is the third chapter of an ongoing tetralogy. The four albums are designed as fragments of a single sentence: "Les corps flottants aux sourires des tristes rongent d'une clameur confuse la sombre lumière." Rather than imposing a fixed narrative, ROSTRES describe the work as an abstract tableau in which each listener can explore a universe of their own.
Across four tracks, the core duo of Alain Brunet and Lionel Mermin expand their instrumental post-rock and sludge foundation with a much broader palette. Guitars, bass, drums and noise textures are joined by piano, trombones, violins, violas, double basses and cellos.
Guest musicians include Kevin Fayet on second drums, Eva Dymko on percussion and noise textures, Franck Marquehosse on piano, Julien Suhubiette on trombones, Damien Bec on violins and violas, Jean-Baptiste Salles on double basses and Sophie Bacqué on cellos.
The album was recorded, mixed and produced by Alain Brunet at Celestine Records Studio in Pau, France. Mastering was handled by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East Mastering in Somerville, US. Artwork and photography were created by Alain Brunet and Eva Dymko.
