French producer MATRAKK resets with Once Again - a reflective shift in sound and direction

Seasons shift and so does sound. For MATRAKK, Once Again marks a moment of recalibration with three tracks that trade pressure for precision and evolution. It’s the sound of an artist refining his energy without losing the force that defined him.

Once Again EP distils a period of personal and musical transition. Drawing from trance, hard house and melodic techno, the project is less about genre and more on emotions; optimism, nostalgia and the kind of relief that arrives after exhaustion.

Each track carries a distinct tone. Take Me To The Sky is light and forward-moving, built for motion and lift. You & Me reaches inward, a track about memory and connection, evoking the quiet euphoria of recognition. Move On is the exhale, rhythmic and orchestral, pushing energy back into the body after the storm.

The EP is part of a wider creative shift for MATRAKK. Since breaking through in 2020 with My Drums Hard, MATRAKK has become a key figure in the electronic music scene. The track quickly became a staple in the rave world, cementing his position as a rising star in the new wave of hard dance and techno. In November 2024, he revealed a new artistic direction with Romance Under The Sun on Speedmaster Records, an EP that moved away from his harder sound to embrace trance influences. This evolution continued in February 2025 with UN POCO, released on Adrian Mills’ label 240kmh, a high-energy trance track that highlighted yet another facet of his creativity.

His progression over the last 5 years has brought him to this point. MATRAKK’s career has never been about fitting in, it’s always been about breaking out. From the hard-hitting drops of My Drums Hard to the deeper, melodic layers of his more recent tracks, he’s always been an artist willing to evolve and take risks..

Once Again also reflects how MATRAKK sees performance not just as spectacle, but as storytelling. Recent live visuals and tactile gestures, such as rose distributions at shows in Barcelona and Milan, underline a simple message: that emotion and energy coexist.

Touring across Europe this winter from London and Berlin to Bilbao and Brussels, MATRAKK is entering a phase defined less by hardness, more by honesty. Once Again EP is both a continuation and a reset: proof that evolution doesn’t require reinvention, only the courage to be different.
