Ftr 'Manners' : new album by French shoegaze act - out 15.02.19

Hailing from the French capital, FTR fuse elements of cold wave, noise and shoegaze styles to create their own blend of intense rock and pop, with fuzzed out guitars, relentless bass and drum machines combining to deliver nuggets of hypnotic, psych infused, goth tinged, feedback laden post punk.

Their second album, ‘Manners’, veers between cacophonous noise pop and driving anthems, all underpinned with cold pulsing rhythms. Formed in 2013, the FTR trio of Yann, Pauline and Brice have evolved their sound via a fuzzy yet highly atmospheric EP entitled ‘Abyss’ (2013) and the cold, gloomy but sensual debut album ‘Horizons’ (2015), while they have honed their live act via select support slots with the likes of The KVB, The Soft Moon, A Place To Bury Strangers, The Underground Youth and The Soft Walls.

Darker and more straightforward, ’Manners’ follows the autumn 2018 single ‘June’ (not on the new album) and reveals another facet to this Parisian act.
