God Mother Announce New Album Köttvärld

Stockholm’s premier purveyors of sonic devastation, God Mother, have officially announced their third full-length album, Köttvärld (translated: Meat World), scheduled for release September 25.

Following up on the chaotic mental landscapes of their previous EP Sinneseld, Köttvärld forcefully breaks out into "meat space." The album delivers a visceral exploration of identity, purpose, and the deconstruction of the self in an increasingly digital world—one that engineers the attention of a Stone Age mind to push AI agendas and exploit the many for the benefit of the few. Köttvärld stands as the antithesis of viewing humans as mere resources, instead reclaiming the self and committing to the raw power of a being fueled by emotion, sense, and nerve.

Musically, the album expands into a wider spectrum of sounds without sacrificing God Mother’s signature abrasive, fast-paced intensity. Listeners can expect a deeper dive into grindcore, punk, sludge, and death metal.

Background

Formed in 2012, God Mother turned heads globally in 2017 when The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Ben Weinman released their second full-length album, Vilseledd, on his Party Smasher Inc. label. Weinman famously dubbed the quartet "an undeniable force majeure," effectively passing the torch of complex, high-energy heavy music to the band. Since then, God Mother has toured extensively alongside heavyweight acts like The Dillinger Escape Plan, Rotten Sound, and Cult Leader.

Köttvärld marks the band's most ambitious and collaborative self-produced effort to date.

Special Guests: Features blistering guest vocals from Chad Kapper (Frontierer) on the track "Almost Intelligent" and a chaotic saxophone performance by Martin Savage Hildebrand (noted for his work on the debut Viagra Boys EP) on the title track "Meat World."

Upcoming Tour & Release Shows

God Mother will hit the road for a comprehensive regional tour from October 7 to October 18 (full routing to be announced next month). The cycle will culminate in a massive hometown album release show in Stockholm on November 7.
