SoCal duo Divider reveal new EBM album Zero via Re:Mission Entertainment

SoCal-based industrial duo Divider unveil a new album of distorted industrial electronics, bringing old-school flair into a modernized electronic body music sound. Evoking the driving industrial rock movement of ‘90s Nine Inch Nails with the disjointed experimentalism and vocal antagonism of Skinny Puppy, Zero expands upon Divider’s previous works as their most cohesive and realized yet.

Zero marks a striking evolution in Divider’s sonic trajectory. Built around the expanded collaborative dynamic between founder Bryon Wilson and new member Peter Beal, the album channels the duo’s combined strengths: Wilson’s meticulous programming and rhythmic precision, and Beal’s commanding vocals and textural programming and audio sensibilities.

From its opening sequence, Zero throws the listener into a world of mechanized pacing, disciplined grooves, and stark digital landscapes. Rather than lean on nostalgia, the album uses classic EBM and electro-industrial signifiers as a springboard, stripped-down percussive engines, razor-edge synth lines, and vocal delivery that oscillates between confrontational screams and haunting resonance. Divider is an Electronic Body Music (EBM) project based in Riverside and Los Angeles, California, founded in the late 1990s by Bryon Wilson. Emerging from the American underground industrial scene, Divider established a reputation for hard-edged sequencing, militant rhythms, and a cinematic sense of atmosphere rooted in classic European EBM and electro-industrial traditions.

In the early 2000s, Divider gained recognition through a series of remixes for artists including XP8, Diverje, and Regenerator, further solidifying Wilson’s presence within the global dark electronic community. The project later released material through Basic Unit Productions, the influential label helmed by Daniel Myer (Haujobb, Architect) and Dejan Samardzic.

In 2024, Divider expanded into a full collaborative force with the addition of Peter Beal, who now contributes vocals and programming. Beal’s commanding vocal presence and production input have sharpened the project’s sonic identity, bringing a more immediate, confrontational edge to Divider’s already disciplined rhythmic foundation. The partnership marks a new chapter for the band—intensifying both its studio output and live performance dynamic.
