Gala dragot performs at the Albanian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest

Gala dragot showed herself at first to the world in 2020 by winning the Flemish edition of The Voice Kids. Her single contagious, released afterwards, has received a lot of attention and airplay. Her forename, Gala, was her stage name at first, but meanwhile, she adopted the stage name of her dad Robert Aliaj Dragot, one of the most prominent figures of Albanian showbiz and a contemporary artist. “Dragot sounds cool in every language. In French we say that the word has gueule, it has its own flavor.”

The 17-year-old singer participates in Eurosong, the Belgian preselection. Like the other candidates, gala presents two songs: Emotion Ollie and T’inquiète, emotional tracks that combine remarkable lyrics and a smooth melody with sharp bass and drum sounds, following the tracks of international pop icons like Billie Eilish and Kim Petras.

Because gala dragot has Albanian roots, she already has a big following in Albania. She performed her song ‘contagious’ and a cover with her dad, Robert Aliaj Dragot at the Festivali i Këngës broadcasted by Albanian National Television.

Festivali i Këngës is an annual music competition in Albania organised by the national broadcaster Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH). Broadcast every year since its inauguration in 1962, it has also determined the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest since 2004.
