Gallus Return With Frantic New Single “Sick Bastards” And Announce Second Album ‘Life Is Bliss’ Coming 25 September Via Marshall Records

Glasgow's most gloriously unapologetic rabble-rousers Gallus return with new single ‘Sick Bastards’, released on 15 July, alongside the announcement of their highly anticipated second album, ‘Life Is Bliss’, arriving 25 September 2026 via Marshall Records.

Following the critical acclaim of 2023's 'We Don't Like The People We Become', 'Life Is Bliss' finds Gallus grappling with the search for stability in a rapidly changing world. Produced and mixed by Blair Crichton of Dead Pony, the album explores themes of anxiety, stagnation, disappearing communities and the changing face of Glasgow, pairing deeply personal struggles with sharp observations on the systems and decisions that shape everyday life. As ever, it all comes delivered with the band's trademark blend of punk urgency, biting wit and brutal self-awareness. The album's artwork reflects those themes, depicting a well known tree in Glasgow's Finnieston district that has stood as a constant amid years of redevelopment and change.

Leading the charge is new single ‘Sick Bastards’, a frantic, tongue in cheek anthem about facing the consequences after burning through all your goodwill. Blurring the line between confession and satire, the track follows a protagonist backed into a corner, lashing out at public judgement rather than taking responsibility for their own actions. ‘Sick Bastards’ perfectly captures Gallus' unique ability to find humour in dysfunction while never shying away from the mess beneath it all.

Speaking about the track, Gallus say: "Sick Bastards is about that point where you've run out of chances, run out of excuses and everyone can see you've made a complete arse of things. Instead of taking responsibility, the character just doubles down and starts pointing fingers at everyone else. It's ridiculous, funny and a bit pathetic, which made it a very enjoyable song to write. It felt like the perfect introduction to ‘Life Is Bliss’ because it captures a lot of the humour, frustration and self inflicted chaos that runs through the record”.

Already renowned for their explosive live performances, Gallus continue to build momentum as one of the UK's most exciting punk-adjacent voices. The band have shared stages with Biffy Clyro, performed at internationally renowned festivals and showcase events including SXSW, Primavera Sound, Iceland Airwaves, The Great Escape, 2000trees, and ESNS, and will embark on a UK headline tour this October, culminating in their biggest ever headline show at Glasgow's Art School.

Gallus' rise has been matched by widespread critical acclaim. Previous releases have earned praise from KERRANG!, Classic Rock, Alternative Press, Clash and SNACK Magazine, while 2023's ‘We Don't Like The People We Become’ received glowing reviews across the board.

Gallus have kept busy in the lead up to ‘Life Is Bliss’. Earlier this summer, the band released their take on The Proclaimers' classic "Letter From America", filming the accompanying video at a sold out hometown show at McChuills in Glasgow. The video has since amassed more than 128,000 views in under two months, with the band later invited to meet the Scotland national team during training ahead of their World Cup campaign, where they played the track to the squad before their departure to the USA.

Gallus embodies youthful anticipation and energetic indie-punk. They blend the vitality of Sports Team, the wit of Yard Act, and introspection akin to Fontaines D.C. Originating in a Glasgow pub, cousins Paul and Eamon Ewins formed a band with Barry Dolan despite limited musical backgrounds.
