Gary Kemp Releases Title Track Ahead of Forthcoming, Third Solo Album
Great British Songwriter Gary Kemp is set to return with his third solo album, “This Destination” out on 31st January 2025 through East West Records.
Today, Kemp releases the second single from the forthcoming album, title track, ‘This Destination’. The song was recorded at Reformation Studios and Rak Studios and was self-produced by Kemp, alongside longtime collaborator Toby Chapman.
The powerful single combines a number of Kemp’s beloved influences; predominantly, echoes of David Bowie and Steely Dan’s late 70s offerings can be heard.
Speaking about the song, Kemp said, ““It’s about my relationship with music. Whatever I’m going through, whatever conflict arises, the process of making music is my resolution. That’s my destination.”
‘This Destination’ follows the album’s anthemic first single, ‘Put Your Head Up’ which came out on 12th November alongside its music video (SEE HERE).
The album will be released alongside a special Dolby Atmos mix, created by Steven Wilson. Wilson uses spatial audio mixing which creates an immersive sound by placing audio elements into a three dimensional space. The effect is a stunning recreation of how we hear sound in the real world. Wilson is the renowned master of this.
