Gavin Friday releases Decadance - The Ecce Homo Orchestra Reworks

Following the acclaimed release of 'Ecce Homo' in 2024, Gavin Friday returns with 'Decadance', a companion album that reimagines six tracks from the original record as one continuous electronic work.

Inspired by pioneering reinterpretations such as The Human League's League Unlimited Orchestra album Love and Dancing, 'Decadance' is far more than a remix collection. The original recordings have been deconstructed and rebuilt into an immersive journey where songs dissolve into one another, creating a seamless listening experience from beginning to end.

Created with longtime collaborator Michael Heffernan, 'Decadance' draws on industrial rhythms, analogue electronics, techno pulse and cinematic sound design. Familiar melodies emerge from driving sequencers, fractured beats and expansive atmospheres, revealing a darker, more hypnotic perspective on the emotional world of 'Ecce Homo'.

Where 'Ecce Homo' explored identity, desire, mortality and redemption through deeply personal songwriting, 'Decadance' refracts those themes through texture, rhythm and repetition. It is a companion piece that stands alongside the original album, inviting listeners to experience its songs in an entirely new light.

Bold, uncompromising and unmistakably Gavin Friday, 'Decadance' continues a career built on artistic reinvention. Rather than revisiting the past, it expands the world of 'Ecce Homo', transforming six of its songs into a continuous electronic suite that blurs the lines between art, atmosphere and the dancefloor.
