Gavin James releases "Cherry Cola"

Gavin James’ new single is called ‘Cherry Cola’. The track is taken from his upcoming album ‘Goldrush’, which will be released on September 12. This fall, the Irish singer-songwriter will tour the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.

‘Cherry Cola’ is about a love that lasts just one night. Gavin explains: “It’s a song about meeting someone on a night out and falling in love only to wake up and you both have lost feelings for each other. There’s no sadness about it, it’s just life. It sounds like a party reminiscing on a party that happened the night before.”

Cherry Cola was one of the first tracks he wrote for the new album, Gavin says: “It definitely had a huge effect on what the album was going to sound like. Lots of guitar. Lots of scratchy bass and lots of live elements were put in later to give it a whole lot of energy.” Previously released from ‘Goldrush’ were the title track and the single She Makes Me.

‘Goldrush’ will be released on September 12. On the album, the Irish singer-songwriter shows two sides of himself. Goldrush consists of two parts, separated by an interlude. One part features seven upbeat, energetic tracks, while the other contains more personal, introspective songs.

About Goldrush, Gavin says: “It’s an album that I’ve been writing and producing for the last two years. It’s also the first time I’ve dived head first into production, which was an amazing experience. The first track Goldrush felt like the perfect beginning of something new that I’ve been trying to find for a while. The album has all the bells and whistles that I love when producing but also the intimate imperfect parts that make it feel human.”

Gavin James broke through in 2015 with his debut album ‘Bitter Pill’, which included his major hits ‘The Book Of Love’ and ‘Nervous’. In 2017, he released the single ‘Tired’ with Alan Walker, which has nearly 275 million streams on Spotify. Gavin has toured with Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, and Niall Horan, and has played sold-out headline shows around the world.

In 2025, Gavin James will tour the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
