"Growing Strong" is the debut of Radio Trapani - The single’s video is a synth pop dream

Growing Strong is the debut single from Radio Trapani, Amsterdam-based italian artist and producer. It's a song about the daily life of a fresh relationship: by spending time together with a new lover, you end up craving more and more, and becoming almost addicted to the other. Inspired by a personal experience, it narrates about moments of ordinary everyday-life, each one charged with extraordinary meanings.

Initially written on guitar, it developed over a long period of time, between 2018 to the present day, by being re-recorded several times. This final version evolves beautifuly, and blossoms into an epic dancy chorus. A woke Mac Demarco, acid-trip funk experience. The foundation of every Radio Trapani song is deep research of what constitutes a perfect pop song, blending the harmonic wizardry of jazz and Brazilian music with the sonic qualities of synth pop, washed-out yet accessible. Lyric-wise, sentimental experimentation and queerness are central elements of interest.

Growing Strong comes accompanied by an official video and it’s the first single of a series of three. Trapani is the latest addition to the roster of independent label Spazio Dischi, and the songs are set to be released in the coming months. This music video features a playful green- screen set, lush with floral overlays and centring on a tongue-in-cheek synchronised dance peformed by the artist and his bandmates. The lo-fi visual aesthetic is a perfect match for Trapani’s sonic combination of modern production idioms and vintage tape mixing techniques.
