Gurl releases new single !

After two EPs that introduced their garage rock steeped in lo-fi and surf influences, the Parisian band GURL finally returned in 2026 with their debut album, Gurl.

The trio, comprised of Alexis Krasowski, Gabriel Le Reverend, and Alexis Riey, has compiled tracks written by Alexis (K) over a three-year period in his bedroom, a space that served as a place for creation, reflection, and experimentation. Across the 13 tracks that make up the tracklist, which has become a temporal marker of those three years, the trio invites the listener to join them in this intimate setting where songs are born and die on a corner of a table, and where the group of friends gathers, exchanges ideas, rehearses, and spends time together. The objects scattered throughout the album cover—drawings, scribbled words, found or vintage items—represent memories that nourished the compositions of Gurl.

The songwriting on the new tracks has gained in maturity and richness compared to the band's earlier work, but retains the freshness and spontaneity that made their earlier releases so charming. Freed from any time constraints, nestled in their own little world, Alexis and the band took their time; to explore, to experiment, to make mistakes and then start again, to meticulously consider every detail of the composition and arrangements of Gurl.

Keen to preserve their independence, the band chose to record and mix the album without any outside intervention, in the studio of Alexis Riey, the band's drummer. It is there that the album took its definitive form. The rhythm section gained in scope and density, and Alexis put into practice the numerous arrangement ideas conceived during the writing process, enriching the compositions with different textures of guitar, bass or vocals, adding percussion, strings, choirs and synthesizers here and there.

Listening to the album, it's hard not to be swept away by the band's garage pop, crafted with so much passion and sincerity, these profoundly endearing little anthems. The listener comes away with a smile on their face, inevitably, and a little piece of Alexis's room in the back of their mind.

Debut album out in September 2026.
