Hannah Frances Releases Mary Lattimore Collaboration From 'Nested in Tangles (Deluxe),' Out Today on Fire Talk

Hannah Frances “belongs in a wise old souls hall of fame”(Stereogum). Last year, Frances released her Fire Talk debut, Nested in Tangles, to a wealth of praise from critics and fans alike, with many heralding its “heaving momentum” (New York Times) as among the year’s best. Today, Frances returns to unveil Nested in Tangles (Deluxe), a newly reimagined package of her “instantly-timeless-sounding album” (Brooklyn Vegan). Alongside an acoustic rendition of album standout “Surviving You,” Nested in Tangles (Deluxe) features an extended dance mix of “A Body, A Map,” as well as a voice and trombone rework of its title track. In addition, Nested in Tangles (Deluxe) features Mary Lattimore on the newly expanded “Beholden to the Birds Murmuring Above.” At once stunning and challenging, Nested in Tangles (Deluxe) doubles down on Hannah Frances’ truly singular artistry.

Of the collaboration, Frances adds: “I’ve loved Mary Lattimore’s work for a long time and feel very honored she contributed ethereal harp magic to an extended version of ‘Beholden To.’

“This Deluxe Edition is a dynamic collection of re-imagined versions of songs from Nested in Tangles. Produced and mixed by Kevin Copeland, we had so much fun experimenting with these songs, and showcasing a different emotional expression than the original recordings.”

Nested in Tangles (Deluxe) precedes Frances’ forthcoming North American tour dates, which begin with a string of dates supporting Angelo de Augustine in Los Angeles, San Francisco and more, culminating with a handful of headline shows in Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Columbus.
