Suede's 'Antidepressants' Deluxe Version
Today, Platinum-selling, Mercury Prize-winning and NME God Like Genius-certified British indie icons Suede release Antidepressants: Expanded, the deluxe edition of their critically acclaimed tenth studio album, via BMG.
Antidepressants: Expanded features the recently released track 'Emotionally Unavailable', alongside 'Medication', a pulsating new song previously unheard by UK audiences, as well as the rare recordings 'Dirty Looks', 'Sharpening Knives' and 'Overload'. The expanded edition also includes Antidepressants (Demos), a collection of 11 scratch tracks, demo recordings and early mixes, offering fans a unique insight into the making of the acclaimed album. The deluxe edition is available across digital platforms and as a 3CD set.
"It seems to me that contemporary life has a kind of powder-keg feel,” says Suede frontman Brett Anderson. “A taut atmosphere, like there’s something explosive about to happen, a latent anger, a lurking darkness, a frustration that requires suppression. We are all striving for connection in a disconnected world."
Antidepressants debuted at No. 2 on the Official UK Albums Chart and received widespread critical acclaim, earning a place in numerous year-end lists. The album was named one of the essential releases of 2025 by The Guardian, MOJO, Uncut, Record Collector, The Sun and many more.
The acclaim surrounding Suede shows no sign of slowing. The band kicked off 2026 with a sold-out UK headline tour, met with rave reviews across the board. The Observer praised Suede's live show for its "infectious, age-defying energy and vulnerability... a band wearing their bleeding heart on their sleeve." Following the acclaimed Dancing With The Europeans tour, which saw the band perform to some of the largest audiences of their career, Suede are currently touring China and will perform at Summer Sonic in Japan later this summer.
The sound of Antidepressants has been widely recognised as capturing the intensity and power of Suede's celebrated live performances, with MOJO describing the album as "a defiant, death-defying record – as much joyride as memento mori." The band launched the album last year with Suede Takeover, a month-long residency at London's Southbank Centre that reimagined their live show in entirely new ways. Addressing a sold-out audience on opening night, Brett Anderson declared: "We are Suede. The anti-nostalgia band." Five further nights of performances and special events followed, celebrating the band's enduring creativity. The London Standard wrote that "there is a serious intent to their work which is far from cosy, a drive to push themselves, and their listeners, into challenging territory ... amid all the torrid times in England now it's actually a relief to have them still excelling at the forefront of a counter-culture."
