Harrison Gordon Signs To Hopeless Records And Releases New Single “Pretty”

Illinois-raised, punk rock band Harrison Gordon has officially signed to Hopeless Records, and today, release their first single under the new label, “Pretty.” Sitting at the intersection of classic punk urgency and present-day emo vulnerability, “Pretty” is raw, emotionally intense, and lyrically self-aware. The track takes a sharp look at screen addiction and the growing tendency to replace real human connection with the constant dopamine loop of algorithm-driven content.

Harrison Gordon shares their thoughts on the new single below:

‘Pretty’ is about how embarrassing it feels to engage with other humans in real life. I think a lot of us default back to retreating inside ourselves through the comfort of a screen because it feels so much safer than actually living your life. The last chorus of that track is about the terminal rot that ensues from this way of thinking.”

Harrison Gordon emerges from an emotionally charged DIY punk lineage, but filters it through a distinctly Gen Z, internet-native lens. What began as a solo project during the COVID-19 pandemic, quickly evolved into a full band, gaining traction through high-energy performances and viral moments online. Their 2023 debut album, The Yuppies are Winning, introduced their unfiltered sound while breakout trackKirby Down Bwent viral on TikTok amassing over 1.8 million views.

Their songs are built for catharsis and connection with shout-along anthems and big hooks that feel as communal as they do personal. They turn anxiety, depression, and frustration into something loud, messy, and unifying. It’s music that thrives in motion, whether that be sweaty rooms, blown-out speakers, or crowds screaming every word back to them.

Most recently, they put out the EP Spring Break!, further cementing their reputation for urgent, emotionally charged songwriting and explosive live energy.
