Highasakite release new singles 'Love Him Anyway' and 'Autopsy'

Norwegian electro pop duo HIGHASAKITE follow up the release of last month’s singles ‘Tell Her Yourself & Keep it Alive’ with another pair of tracks; ‘Love Him Anyway’ and ‘Autopsy’, taken from their upcoming 5th album ‘Mother’, which is due for release on 28th January. In support of the release, the Norwegian Grammy winners have also announced three live dates in Copenhagen, London and Berlin.

The duo, made up of vocalist and songwriter Ingrid Helene Håvik and drummer Trond Bersu, have accumulated over 200 million streams on Spotify to date, a figure that is only set to grow with the release of these two irresistible new singles. Always ones to push themselves creatively, they wanted a 70s vibe, with a contemporary twist to ‘Love Him Anyway’, as Ingrid explains

«We had an idea about going back to the 70s, but at the same time we wanted it to sound modern and 2021. Trond found some old samples we liked, which gave us a good basis to build on. The result is something that we re really proud of, and we think it s one of the obvious singles on the album.”

Autopsy arrives with a more harrowing message, tackling the challenges of being a woman in today’s society and features a sample of a woman talking about her anxiety and paranoia about being followed – a fear that for women, is universally relatable.

Throughout their career to date, HIGHASAKITE have earned multiple Norwegian Grammy Awards (Spellemannprisen), praise from the Norwegian Music Publishers Association (Musikkforleggerne) and 4 Gaffa Awards. One of the bands most outstanding performances and a highlight of their career so far was their participation at the Nobel Peace Prize Awards alongside Sting and Halsey as well as their performance at America’s TV show Conan.
