Highasakite release TWO new singles "Tell Her Yourself" & "Keep It Alive"
Sept. 3rd - HIGHASAKITE are happy to announce the release of not just one but two new singles out today – Listen to Tell Her Yourself & Keep it Alive here. The launch of the two singles came along an Easter egg hunt within Spotify where fans received a physical invitation made of seed paper with an exclusive Spotify code which took the fans to a teaser of the new singles.
Ingrid, singer of HIGHASAKITE says about Tell Her Yourself: “Tell her yourself is hinting towards infidelity of some sorts. There’s been no cheating in my own relationship. So, no need to speculate. I got the idea for the song after watching a clip of Rihanna telling a paparazzi photographer «you can tell her your damn self!» a couple of years ago. What they were talking about I don’t remember, but that sentence got stuck in my head. Just like a hook. And so, the song kind of just spins around that comment.”
The two singles follow the bands major success, especially after being featured on the soundtrack of Swedish Netflix Original “Young Royals” in 2021. About the second single Keep It Alive, Ingrid states: “Keep it alive is a song about keeping the relationship alive and not taking it for granted. About missing each other in each other’s presents. I feel like this happens in every long-term relationship. Mine is no exception.”
Throughout their career, HIGHASAKITE generated more than 200 million streams as of today and earned multiple Norwegian Grammy Awards (Spellemannprisen), praise from the Norwegian Music Publishers Association (Musikkforleggerne) and 4 Gaffa Awards. One of the bands most outstanding performances and definitely a highlight of their career so far was their participation at the Nobel Peace Prize Awards alongside Sting and Halsey as well as their performance at America’s TV show Conan.
Besides winning multiple awards, the band also earned critical praise from THE GUARDIAN, WONDERLAND, THE METRO or Q MAGAZINE. The Guardian previously wrote: “HIGHASAKITE are a milestone on the road towards The End Of Music As We Know It” and Wonderland stating: “A delicious slice of pure electro-pop gold”.
