Hobart Prog Metal Band Du Cane Announce Debut Album "Veil of the Abyss"
Hobart prog metal outfit Du Cane are set to release their debut album, "Veil of the Abyss", on 20 May. Drawing influence from the heavy, expansive worlds of Mastodon, Opeth and The Ocean, Du Cane blend crushing riffs, atmospheric passages and big, cinematic songwriting, the sort of thing best enjoyed loud enough to mildly concern the neighbours.
The band have already released two singles from the album: the heavier, darker 'Veil of the Abyss II' and the more direct, hard-hitting 'Glass Crown'.
“We wanted this album to feel massive, heavy and immersive,” says the band. “It’s our first proper statement, and we’re keen to get it in front of people who are into progressive and heavy music.”
