Hollywood Undead released their new studio album Five last Friday October 27th
ive is a particularly powerful number: humans have five senses, stars have five points. In many cultures, it is also the number of love. And for the five members of Hollywood Undead (Johnny 3 Tears, J-Dog, Charlie Scene, Funny Man and Danny), it is also the ideal title for their new (and fifth) studio album Five (Dove & Grenade Media / BMG).
We are five brothers and this is our fifth album, says guitarist Johnny 3 Tears. Numerology is very powerful and nothing reflects more the essence of our music than this number. We all agreed on this word immediately; it is like a code of who we are. Besides, it is a reminder of the title and fifth song No. 5 of our first album. It also alludes to our fans that have been supporting us for more than ten years. This is a truly special moment for us.
Hollywood Undead have just released the first single of the new album. One can watch the video of California Dreaming on VEVO through the following link: http://smarturl.it/CaliforniaDreamingV.
Aggressive guitar playing, a fast andragingmelody, throaty raps and teasing lyrics climax in a choral-like refrain: We never sleep, in California were dreaming.
The song depicts the two faces of California, says singer J-Dog. On the one hand, there is all this brightness, glamour, sun and the surfers. On the other hand, people may not afford their rent, stars behave like assholes and many are hiding behind a facade. We wanted a hard, rough song with a Red Hot Chili Peppers-like refrain and an old-school vibe.
Their powerful live shows are often sold out around the world, whether in Massachusetts, or in Miami, Moscow or Manchester. They have toured with great bands, such as Avenged Sevenfold, Korn and Stone Sour. Magazines such as Billboard, Rolling Stone, Alternative Press or Revolver often publish extensive articles about them.
Since the release of their platinum debut album Swan Swongs, a unique and intoxicating mix of rock, hip hop, industrial and electro, they have won millions of fans around the globe. The album American Tragedythat followed in 2011 climbed to the fourth place of the Billboard Top 200 and went gold. Notes From the Underground(2014) climbed to the second place. Day of the Dead, with the single of the same name, hit 21 million spotify streams and 17 million YouTube/VEVO clicks.
