Hydrogen Sea’s striking new single ‘Run’ and new video

Hydrogen Sea’s striking new single ‘Run’ is an upbeat banger you’ll want to kick your feet to. ‘Run’ celebrates the unattainable rush, the ever elusive horizon, in an entrancing blend of luscious vocals, playful strings, and compelling interplay of bass, drums, and synths. Listen, as it launches you into an endless expanse of stars.

The video for ‘Run’ was made using a phenakistoscope. Put simply: a disc containing a sequence of frames in circles. These discs were then put onto a record player and filmed. When eliminating the intermediate frames you get a basic animation.

The song is about running away from everything. Which the video makers interpreted as vanishing from the planet, inspired by Hydrogen Sea’s spacey music. A disc was made for every planet in the solar system and an analog approach was chosen to match the sound of the song.

Hydrogen Sea’s second full album will be released in April, and presented on April 25 in the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels.
