I'M Not A Blonde releases New Album "11 (The Art Of Being A Couple)"

The Italian-American electropop duo I’m Not a Blonde is gearing up for the release of their new album 11 (The Art of Being a Couple)”, out on May 15 via INRI Records.

Their fourth full-length studio album, “11 (The Art of Being a Couple),” is conceived as a record that traces the full arc and dynamics of a relationship. Drawing on the intertwined personal and artistic journey of Chiara and Camilla, the album explores how love and creativity continuously shape - and challenge - one another.

Across its tracklist, the album unfolds in distinct stages: the exhilaration of falling in love, the strain of conflict, and the fragile work of rediscovery. Each song functions as both a vignette and a waypoint, capturing a relationship in flux rather than a fixed narrative, while also reflecting the duo’s evolving sense of self as individuals and collaborators.

Musically, “11 (The Art of Being a Couple)” takes shape through a refined, minimalist sound built on repeating patterns, arpeggiators and steady, often '80s & ’90s-inspired rhythms that create a subtle but constant sense of movement. Throughout the album, intimate and restrained moments - sometimes carried by soft, almost whispered vocals - naturally give way to more open, layered choruses with a choral or trance-like feel. The voice shifts fluidly between texture and melody, while the arrangements alternate between rhythmic drive and more suspended, dreamlike passages. The result is a sound that feels both controlled and expansive, gently mirroring the emotional flow at the heart of the album.

The album also marks a first in I'm Not A Blonde's discography, introducing a fluid interplay between English and Italian. This bilingual approach operates as more than a stylistic choice; it becomes a core expressive tool, reinforcing themes of identity, intimacy, and transformation, while echoing the shifting dynamics at the heart of the record’s concept.

ABOUT I’M NOT A BLONDE

I’m Not a Blonde is an Italian-American duo based in Milan, consisting of Chiara Castello and Camilla Benedini. Their elegant electropop - featuring ’80s-style synths and beats, ’90s Brit-wave guitars, and sharp pop melodies - strikes a perfect balance between the two personalities: irony and madness, fun and seriousness, minimalism and artpop, digital and analogue. All of this is wrapped in a veil of melancholy that gives their music a distinct identity and unmistakable style.

Over the years, they have performed at various Italian and international festivals, sharing the stage with artists such as Duran Duran, Moderat, Soulwax, Peaches, Ghostpoet, Hurts, and many more.

Live, their sonic architecture - layered loops of vocals, guitars, synths, and electronic beats - fills the stage with the power and impact of a full band.

Their style has captivated world-renowned artists, who have chosen I’m Not a Blonde as their opening act in Italy: Franz Ferdinand in 2018 at Bologna’s Unipol Arena, The Killers at Rock in Roma (2018), Wolf Alice for their sole Italian date in 2018, and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park in 2019 in Milan and Padua.
