Insanidade dives deeper into hard rock and heavy metal on “Enough to Be a Loser”

Insanidade has released its fourth studio album, “Enough to Be a Loser,” a work that marks a new milestone in the group’s trajectory. Considered the heaviest record of their career, the release showcases a clear sonic evolution and consolidates the band as one of the most consistent names in hard rock and heavy metal within the Brazilian underground scene.

With nine tracks — eight originals and a cover of “Looks That Kill,” a Mötley Crüe classic — the album fully immerses itself in the raw energy of ’70s and ’80s Hard n’ Heavy, drawing direct influences from Motörhead, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, and The Hellacopters, while maintaining its own distinct and contemporary identity. Powerful riffs, striking beats, and attitude-driven lyrics reinforce the rebellious rock ’n’ roll essence that has always accompanied Insanidade.

Currently formed by Lucas Tamandaré (vocals), Luis Maldonalle (guitar), Gustavo Vasquez (bass), and Rodrigo Miranda (drums), the band shows an even more collaborative and mature spirit in this new work. Available on digital platforms, with physical CD and vinyl versions on the way, “Enough to Be a Loser” reaffirms Insanidade’s heaviness, commitment, and relevance. Below, the group talks about the album’s creative process, their influences, the underground scene, and the next steps in their career.

You’ve released Enough to Be a Loser, the fourth album of your career. What was the creative process like for this work, and what makes it different from the previous ones?

“Enough to Be a Loser” is an album made by eight hands. It was the first album in which all members actively participated, both in melodies, arrangements, and artistically. So it was a very cooperative record, and we wanted to sound even more aligned with Hard n’ Heavy.

The album features eight original tracks and a cover of “Looks That Kill,” a Mötley Crüe classic. Why did you choose this song specifically?

Mötley Crüe is a huge influence and inspiration for all of us. We grew up listening to Crüe, and they are one of the biggest bands of the ’80s, conveying the full spirit of ’80s L.A. “Looks That Kill” is a Hard Rock classic, with a killer riff and a catchy chorus. Pure influence for us.

The Brazilian underground scene has been growing stronger in recent years. Where do you see Insanidade within this scenario?

Insanidade has always been a very active band in the scene — always participative and engaged. We want to be increasingly involved in this environment, whether through shows, festivals, interviews, radio, TV, and also by consistently highlighting other bands from the scene.

What can fans expect from the band’s next steps?

We’re already preparing “Enough to Be a Loser II,” which will probably be released in the first half of 2026. Once again, it will feature an amazing cover from another band that has greatly influenced us. There will be 10 tracks — nine originals and one cover.
