Jack Rasmussen to release Round In Circles’.
Following on from his recently taking some time out to explore the world and to acknowledge his own struggles with ongoing issues relating to anxiety and depression, Jack Rasmussen is now back with his most honest and raw offering to date with ‘Round In Circles’.
Jack has taken the brave decision to record and release this track in a truly admirable move to try and raise awareness and break the stigma regarding Men’s Mental Health.
Commenting on the release Jack has said: “This song was written as a letter to myself whilst I was going through therapy in an attempt to deal with on-going trauma and the story of overcoming depression/anxiety. It's a song I hope will help all males to open up more about their mental health and thus break the stigma that sadly still very much exists”
Building on previous support and repeated plays from BBC Introducing, “Round In Circles” sees Jack producing such a stunning heart-felt track, that I defy anyone not to be moved by.
Influenced by artists such as Sam Fender, Tom Grennan & The Smiths, Jack’s style spans the genre gap and provides the listener with something which is unmistakably very much his own sound.
Jack is no stranger to the industry. His music career began in the shape of indie band VELVET. Together, the collective played multiple shows around the North East including support slots at Middlesbrough Townhall & The Riverside in Newcastle. They released a total of three singles and a debut EP, achieving support slots with The Bluetones & Shaun Ryder and having a track feature on ITV - This Morning (Out to Get Me). Velvet disbanded in 2020 when Jack decided to follow his dream of becoming a solo artist in his own right.
In February 2021 Jack released his debut single 'Broken Youth', which instantly caught the attention and support from the likes of BBC Introducing, this song alone has amassed over 27,000 streams on Spotify. Following up on this, Jack’s second single ‘City Road’ explored the emotions of leaving home comforts and delving into a new life. Later the same year came the single releases of ‘In A Different Light’ and ‘Jump The Gun’ - the latter of which was featured in a documentary aired on Sky TV called ‘Kick Out The Jams - The Story of XFM’ which tells the story of the incredible radio station and how it helped shaped the face of music today.
In 2022 Jack released ‘Ruby’s Heart of Gold’ a track which was written and recorded while Jack was travelling around Thailand and which saw him teaming up with a female vocalist for the first time.
Jack’s latest single and first single release of 2023 ‘Round In Circles’ is a strikingly beautiful track. Its clear and precise instrumentals and crips vocals provide the perfect platform with which to deliver Jack’s important message regarding Men’s Mental Health.
‘Round In Circles’ was recorded at a world leading studio in Byron Bay - Australia. It was produced by Tim Parry, Engineered by Jan ‘Yarn’ Muths and features backing vocals by Katia Demeester.
