Jonathan Antoine Releases ‘Compass’ and ‘Country Roads’

Jonathan Antione releases on all streaming platforms ‘Compass’ and ‘Country Roads’ from his forthcoming album entitled Going the Distance out in the UK and Europe on June 5th.

"Compass and Country Roads are songs which invoke the idea of embracing and being embraced by the things that you love and miss. In this strange and uncertain time, I think that holding on to the things we love has become all the more important. It is vital that we think of one another as a support structure; there is no us and them, only us. Although these songs were not written or performed with this particular situation in mind, I hope that they can be something through which we can relate to one another. “In spite of the difficult times, I’ll still be releasing Going The Distance in the UK and Europe on June 5th. My one wish is to give you something to enjoy, and I hope that you feel the love that I have for each of you."

The album was produced by Grammy Award-winner Gregg Field, who's worked with everyone from Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald to Barbra Streisand and Andrea Bocelli.

With this fifth album, Jonathan has really found his voice. Eight years after his debut, he’s also now free to follow his own vision. Going the Distance realises a childhood idea to structure an album in three acts, like a musical, which tell the story of overcoming adversity to fulfil your dreams.

‘Going the Distance feels like me on a record. It’s not necessarily my story. It’s a story about anyone who feels downtrodden or disenfranchised. Most people feel like outsiders. We’re as flawed as each other and, if we come together, we're a little less of those flaws. We can make each other better than we can be individually.’

He debuted Going the Distance in two concerts in Toronto, Canada – recorded for a TV special set to be broadcast on PBS in the North America and worldwide this summer.

Not that he isn’t used to mind-blowing reactions. Jonathan’s ‘Country Road’, released just a few weeks ago, has already received 2 million views across different platforms.
