Jono McCleery to release his new studio album Moonlit Parade

On April 29th singer and songwriter Jono McCleery will release his new studio album titled Moonlit Parade via Ninety Days Records. The album was recorded in Master Chords Studios in London together with producer Ronan Phelan (Adele, Chilly Gonzales, Ed Sheeran) and mastering was done by Matt Colton (Arctic Monkeys, Thom Yorke, Coldplay). The first single and title track of the album Moonlit Parade is out now.

Moonlit Parade is a deeply personal manifesto of raw poetry with a quiet, self-contained sound. On Moonlit Parade, the London singer and musician has deliberately chosen a no-frills approach, successfully capturing what most people probably feel has been taken away from them by the current pandemic: a sense of closeness. Allowing someone to be close to you means first and foremost that you trust them, and Jono trusts the music. He doesn't have to ask or force anything from it. He does not have to disguise it, he does not have to distort it. The music gets under your skin.

The pure, blues-inspired sound of Jono's voice wants to lay everything bare, and his lyrics, too, reveal their poetry with refreshing simplicity. Together with his backing band, Dan See (drums), Dan Gulino (bass) and Steve Pringle (keys), Jono achieves a clarity on Moonlit Parade that is as candid as it is self-contained. Each moment gets exactly what it needs - sometimes that's the loneliness of the nighttime hours, the uninhibited freedom to sing only what really matters, and sometimes that's the confident, easy flow of a groove borrowed from 1970s rhythm & soul.

The new single Moonlit Parade is a broken love song. Love is gone, but the hope of finding it again will never fade. Sung from the perspective of someone who has lost everything, but holds on to his love for one person. "The video was shot in a small village near Valencia (Spain) by the mountains. We went walking in the night where the quiet suburbs back out onto the mountains with Giovanni Di Legami who filmed and produced everything. I had invited him to stay with us for 1 week to film, and coincidentally there was a full moon happening during a heatwave." - says Jono McCleery. Watch the video below.

Jono McCleery comes from the cultural scene in London, but has been living in Rotterdam for quite some time now. He was born deaf and heard nothing until he was three years old. At the age of 17, he held a guitar for the first time and never let it out of his sight again, despite mastering many other musical skills. At the beginning of the new millennium, the young musician became part of the 'One Taste Collective'. Jono McCleery has always been musically versatile. Collaborating with other artists has been a natural part of the evolution of his music, with Portico Quartet as a prime example.

In 2008, Jono McCleery produced his own debut album, titled Darkest Light. This was followed by his first tours, as support act for Gil-Scott Heron, Bonobo and Fink, among others. Reputable labels quickly also began showing interest in the singer, and in 2011 he released his label debut There Is. He released two more critically acclaimed albums since.
