Jordan Astra lives by the mantra "Repetition Sharpen Blades," a belief that pushes him to keep showing up for himself and others, continually refining his craft. An Indonesian-Canadian artist and producer based in Toronto, Astra blends uptempo R&B with funk and pop influences, drawing inspiration from icons like Pharrell, Jamiroquai, and Bruno Mars. His musical journey began in 2009, producing beats in his university dorm, and by 2018, he decided to release his own music as a solo artist. Frustrated by slow-moving collaborations and the challenge of finding others with the same drive, Astra’s creative independence grew, fueling his rise as a distinct artist with his own voice and vision.

Since winning The Showcase Tour Finale in 2019 and performing at major events like an NBL Australia halftime show and opening for Leikeli47, Astra has steadily built his career. His 2023 EP, Man From East, reflects his journey of returning to Canada after eight years abroad, offering an intimate glimpse into his personal and professional evolution. His upcoming project, Far Deeper, marks the second chapter of a three-part series exploring themes of unpredictability, uncertainty, and taking leaps of faith. Recently signed to Mind of a Genius Records, Astra is on the verge of breaking out, and with his first single of 2025, "Honey," he’s bringing joy, love, and affirmation to his listeners, setting the stage for a full album release this August. The track, written during his time in Los Angeles, is a celebration of the light and warmth we can offer each other, and a preview of the stories and sounds to come.
