Julian Hunt releases Marine Drive

Toronto-born Julian Hunt is back with his newest single, “Marine Drive”, a dreamy, nostalgic track that captures the feeling of looking back on a moment you wish could last forever. Written during a move to Vancouver, the song loops through memories and emotions, reflecting the places and moments you keep returning to in your mind.

“Marine Drive” draws its imagery from vivid personal snapshots—“my red eye flight,” “high like kites,” “time for our biggest mistakes”—painting a picture of moving forward while holding onto the past. Julian explains, *“The looping nature of the song’s structure and lyrics are supposed to reflect something you dream about again and again, using Marine Dr in Vancouver as the one place where this nostalgia still exists.” It’s a song about new beginnings, endless possibilities, and the moments that make life feel alive.

The production matches that sense of wistful wonder, blending dream-pop textures with 80s-inspired synths, programmed drums, and electric guitars that dance around a simple, engaging melody. Julian first sketched the track on a keyboard in February 2025, finishing it by the end of the year with layered vocal stacks and soft, whimsical delivery that give the track a rich, immersive feel. He’s been building his craft in Vancouver at Boutique Empire Studios with producer Mark Henning while preparing for upcoming projects in 2026, and this single follows the momentum of his first release, “Sharks In The Pool”, which was featured in Zillions Magazine and played on Radio One Vancouver. With “Marine Drive”, Julian continues to showcase his love for storytelling, self-taught piano skills, and a sound inspired by queer and female artists, musical theatre, and the pop of his youth—a perfect blend of past and present in one vibrant, reflective song.
