Kaiser Chiefs announce new single "How 2 Dance"

V2 Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing (excluding the UK) of Kaiser Chiefs. The new single to be released on November 4th sports a fresh new sound produced by Amir Amor (Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX, Rudimental). Multi award winning English indie-rockers Kaiser Chiefs are of course well-known for classic hit singles such as ‘I Predict A Riot’, ‘Ruby’, ‘Oh My God’ and ‘Every Day I Love You Less And Less’ and also for knowing how to set a festival crowd on fire.

Eight albums into their career though the band, like the rest of the world, got confronted with the COVID pandemic. For Kaiser Chiefs this called for some serious pondering on how to survive as a band that is forced to not play live and on what music in general can mean in an age of technology, freedom, and viral choreography.

With a genuine out of the box mentality the band sat down with two proliferous producers Amir Amor, Lewis Thompson (David Guetta, Becky Hill) and Nile Rodgers (Chic, David Bowie, Madonna, Daft Punk) to create a fresh hew sound that still allows Kaiser Chiefs to be themselves and create the anthems we want to hear from them.

So now, after almost two decades in the game, and an extensive back-catalogue of stadium belters, instrumental-prowess, and record-breaking success, Kaiser Chiefs triumphantly return with ‘How 2 Dance’.

Singer Ricky Wilson says: “We really wanted to make a song that put together all the things we were trying to get right over the last three records. The call to arms of Education and War, the party atmosphere of Stay together, and the classic Kaiseryness of Duck. Who knows if we succeeded, but that’s the beauty of being in a band that gets to keep going, keep releasing records we want to make at the time, without much interference. For the first time in a long time we have teamed up with the two guys who originally signed us. They’ve watched us grow, seen our ups and downs, and in many ways understand us better than we do. Over lunch in a swanky restaurant they told us we had unfinished business together, and that’s where How 2 Dance was born. I hope to hear it at weddings, on the radio, and in the last remaining indie discos across the land. It’s about letting go, not worrying about what other people think you should be doing, and celebrating the fact that you can go pretty far without doing what is expected or repeating yourself. It may not be the smoothest of journeys, but sometimes you need a bit of turbulence to remind you that you are flying.”

With a brand new record deal, a new sound, a new single and new UK tour dates including throughout November 2022 including the O2 Arena in London, the Leeds collective is up and running again, inviting you to take this ride with them and let them teach you how to dance.
