Kamrad releases "Alright"
KAMRAD asks, "wanna be friends?" and our answer is YES! With his new EP, he opens the door for his fans to an even more personal connection, showing entirely new sides of himself. The songs take a fresh sonic path, surprising with a broad range from hip-hop vibes to drum & bass and even techno.
The EP cover captures this diverse spirit perfectly: it shows many different "versions" of KAMRAD – sometimes playful, sometimes thoughtful. "I want fans to get to know me better and see that there’s more than one side to me," he explains. "After The Voice of Germany, many people noticed that I like to add humor, but there are always emotional and passionate moments as well. The EP represents the colorful range in between."
This EP includes everything from the optimistic tones of “It feels so good” to the biting attitude of “I wish you bad luck”. Along with his first EP “not good at playing love songs” “wanna be friends?” wraps up an initial chapter. "To me, these two EPs feel like my first album," says KAMRAD, and they capture the journey of the past few years perfectly.
Notably, tracks like “Alright” and “Easy To Hate Me” have already found a fixed spot in his live shows. "I like to play new songs live before they come out – it’s like a little extra for the fans," KAMRAD shares. "At the same time, I can see which songs excite the most."
With „Post Love Clarity“, there is another brand-new song that showcases yet another musical side with its drum & bass sound. "Pop music with a wink" describes the EP’s vibe well – songs that combine serious topics with self-irony and ease.
Is there an overarching theme in the songs? As the title suggests, it’s about providing even more personal insight into his life. "The EP is called wanna be friends? because I’m revealing different and new sides of myself and my fans can get to know me better with this EP," says KAMRAD.
In January, he’s taking the EP on tour, and KAMRAD is already looking forward to continuing this journey with his fans. "For me, nothing is better than playing live and meeting the people who make my music possible."
KAMRAD has a voice that’s instantly recognizable, and he has a talent for expressing his feelings through lyrics, showing his fans all the facets of his personality so they can get to know him even better.
