Khonsu release second single "The Observatory"!
KHONSU is a groundbreaking and innovative extreme metal band hailing from Bergen, Norway that features guest appearances by members of KEEP OF KALESSIN and MANES. Their music has a distinctive dark futuristic twist and delivers a sinister blend of metal and electronic elements. On November 18th, KHONSU release their second, upcoming new album "The Xun Protectorate" via Jhator Recordings/PHD. Today, the band releases their second single form the upocoming album, called "The Observatory". "The Observatory" is the second track on the album, and we thought this would make a cool single. It's not too long, unique and interesting, and contains many elements characteristic of Khonsu", say S. Gronbech. "It's also a great introduction to the clean vocalist that was used throughout the album - Rune Folgerø from Norwegian metal acts Atrox and Manes. This track is a bit unusual, particularly the way synths are used with the riffs, the vocal melodies, and in the general arrangement and weird mix of styles. My brother, Arnt "Obsidian C." Gronbech from Keep of Kalessin has also contributed on the track with a beautiful guitar solo at the end."
The lyrics are written by Torstein Parelius (Chton, Manes), and is a general description of the space colony and the numb existence there. It's also hinting to what is about to unfold in the story.
