Kill Sound Records launched in partnership with The Label Group, TLG|ROCK,

Founded by Musician, Songwriter and Producer Justin McCain, New Imprint Welcomes First Signings MCHNZ and ANNALIESE

Kill Sound Records, a new record label founded by musician, songwriter and producer Justin McCain, has officially launched in partnership with The Label Group, TLGROCK, distributed by Virgin Music Group, bringing McCain’s longtime passion for A&R and artist development to the forefront.

Joining McCain in the launch of Kill Sound Records are partners Zeb Christensen (Screaming for Silence), Aaron Koenig (Devil in the Details) and Sgt. RJ Mitchell USMC. The label’s first two artist signings are MCHNZ and ANNALIESE.

McCain’s path to launching his own label has been shaped by years of experience on both sides of the music industry. As a musician, songwriter and producer, he has been a member of signed bands including Through Fire and Emphatic, experiences that gave him firsthand insight into the workings of the modern music business while allowing him to work alongside some of the industry's most respected executives and creative professionals.

Those experiences ultimately helped shape a long-standing goal: to create a label focused on identifying artists with potential and giving them the guidance, development and resources needed to build lasting careers.

“I've been very fortunate to have worked with some of the most incredibly talented people throughout my journey as a musician, songwriter and producer in the music business,” says Justin McCain, Owner/CEO of Kill Sound Records. “With being in multiple signed bands, including Through Fire and Emphatic, I had the opportunity to learn from some of the most brilliant label executives along the way such as Monte Lipman of Republic Records, Pete Ganbarg of Atlantic Records, Jeff Blue, known for his work with Linkin Park and, of course, one of my biggest inspirations, Ash Avildsen of Sumerian Records.”

“I always knew when the time was right, I was going to focus on my passion for A&R and artist development and start my own record label. After having conversations with my good friend and industry vet Dennis Sanders, owner of The Label Group, he offered me an imprint through TLGROCK, distributed by Virgin Music Group. Alongside my partners Zeb Christensen, Aaron Koenig and RJ Mitchell, we're very excited to announce the launch of Kill Sound Records.”

McCain also credits Dennis Sanders, founder of The Label Group, as an important part of making the vision a reality. Sanders has built TLG into a prominent independent music company, with recent success at radio including a #1 single at radio with Billy Morrison / Ozzy Osbourne.

“Kill Sound Records represents the next chapter of my career,” McCain adds. “I'm incredibly excited to take everything I've learned as an artist, songwriter, producer and student of the business and apply it to developing artists. We're just getting started, and we're extremely proud to welcome MCHNZ and ANNALIESE as the first two artists on the roster.”

Kill Sound Records’ first two signings, MCHNZ and ANNALIESE, represent the beginning of the label’s artist roster, with additional announcements and new music to follow.

In addition, Justin McCain and partner Aaron Koenig have also opened Kill Sound Studio, a production/songwriting team to record/produce artists signed to the label.
