Kristo releases new single "Do I Miss You More" / First single of EP 'Childhood' (release 22.03.2024)

Kristo is the solo project of singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Kristiaan Deruytter. With the new EP 'Childhood,' set to be released on March 22, 2024, Kristo reveals a new side. "Do I Miss You More" is the first single that Kristo presents in anticipation of the release of his new EP.

"I wrote this song when I had doubts about whether the love I feel for my girlfriend is reciprocated equally. In this song, I express vulnerability about my fears of possibly losing her and all the other thoughts that sometimes play in my mind during our long-distance relationship.

Kristo is the solo endeavor of Belgian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Kristiaan Deruytter. Born to the renowned saxophonist Frank Deruytter and a mother specializing in marimba and vibraphone instruction, young Deruytter was raised in a profoundly musical family. It swiftly became apparent that music would become his paramount passion, and he was determined to chart his own course at any cost.

Throughout his formative years, he underwent a classical music education, and his adolescence was largely dedicated to experimenting with different musical groups. Serving as the frontman for the Pop-Funk trio Savoir-Vivre for an extended period, he frequently made guest appearances with OTO-Machine, a funk ensemble led by his father. Having graduated from the esteemed Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam last year, he persists in the quest for his distinctive musical identity.

The outcome of this exploration? Exquisite, sincere compositions that fluctuate between subdued and pure on some occasions, and vibrant and funky on others. In summary, a rising Belgian talent distinguished by a unique sound, commanding songs, and a remarkable live reputation. During live performances, he is supported by Wout Helsen (blackwave., Jaouad) on drums, Erik Rademakers (Selah Sue, Pommelien Thijs) on bass, and David Thomaere (Clouseau) on keys.
