Kristoffer Gildenlöw releases '[Humanised]'

Known as the bassist in the original line-up of Pain of Salvation, Kristoffer Gildenlöw has also recorded and toured extensively with artists from across the globe, including Neal Morse, Damian Wilson,

Lana Lane, For All We Know, Mr. Fastinger, and more. In 2012, Kristoffer released his debut solo album, Rust. This was followed by The Rain (2016), Homebound (2020), Let Me Be A Ghost (2021) and Empty (2024). Across these releases, he has firmly established himself as an artist who resists categorisation, drawing on a broad spectrum of influences to craft a sound that is uniquely his own.

Each album is musically and lyrically themed and even though different from his other albums, they are all distinctively connected by Kristoffer's way of arranging and producing... and of course his warm and intriguing vocals.

With his new album, Kristoffer Gildenlöw reintroduces elements of his progressive metal roots. Featuring weighty seven-string guitar work, driving riffs and shifting time signatures, the record leans noticeably heavier than his previous releases. At the same time, it weaves in touches of sleaze rock, art rock, prog and even doom, all brought together with a seamless flow and a powerful, cohesive production. '[Humanised]' is a mirror (or selfie-cam?), held up in front of the modern day person. Over-producing, over-consuming, over-shallow, over- greedy, exclusively inclusive... and puts this in the perspective that nothing will ever stay the same... nothing!

Guest musicians

For '[Humanised]', Kristoffer enlisted Leo Margarit (Pain of Salvation, For All We Know) on drums, a choice that becomes immediately clear upon listening.

Fans will also recognise Daniel Magdič (Prehistorical Animals, formerly of Pain of Salvation), who contributes a guest guitar solo on the track “Landfill”.

Also appearing is Thijmen van der Meer, an emerging talent from the Netherlands, who features with a guitar solo on “The Fields”.
