La Belle Époque shares new single with Bent Van Looy 'Saturday Night'
‘Saturday Night’ is the new single from upcoming album ‘Volume II’ by La Belle Époque. Saturday Night, written with Bent van Looy, is a ballad with echoing guitars and a big string arrangement.
Looking at the debut album in 2020 'La Belle Époque, Volume I', it's no surprise that Danny van Tiggele (known from Mister and Mississippi and Blaudzun) was already working on turning this into a great series. Now November 10th, the sequel, Volume II is expected.
Bent Van Looy about ‘Saturday Night’: “After a couple of refreshing uptempo powerpop demos, Danny suddenly let me hear a melancholic slow, completely canned, except for vocals and tambourine, that reminded me of rainy London streets but also of video clips of Guns N' Roses - late at night on MTV sometime in the early nineties. Wandering the streets of Mexico City, I made up words and a melody that, as far as I was concerned, made things even more heartbreaking if possible.”
