L;A.B: new single/videoclip "Ocean Demon", from their new album "L.A.B VI"
L.A.B’s groove blends an eclectic, catchy and laidback mix of reggae, pop, rock, soul and funk with electronic influences, all combining to create a sound entirely their own. L.A.B, featuring former members of the bands Kora and Katchafire, have become a mainstay in the New Zealand music scene, with their 5 albums all receiving at least a one-time Platinum status, dominating as well the national single and album charts, radio playlists, award shows and sales stats on dsp-platforms. L.A.B also made their name on the live stages of Australasia, and were publicly-voted for 2 years in a row as New Zealand’s Best Live Act.
Now L.A.B return with their new album, aptly titled “VI”, the latest addition to their catalogue. After recording and releasing their first 5 albums in a 5 year span, the 5 musicians have recorded the new songs with frequent collaborator Lee Prebble at Wellington’s Surgery Studios after an almost 18-month period of writing, tweaking and finessing their strongest album to date. In between L.A.B did a couple of mega-shows across New Zealand, Australia and the USA. “L.A.B VI” also arrives fresh off the back of their sold-out debut European shows in Amsterdam and London end last year. The 11 new songs incorporate all aspects of the band’s unique sound; the album combines (roots) reggae with soul, funk, rock and pop.
L.A.B drops another sun-soaked reggae track, “Ocean Demon”, taken from their upcoming sixth album “L.A.B VI”. The track is a another tease ahead of the band’s highly anticipated new album!
