Lion's Den releases brand new EP 'In Tune'

On February 25th, Lion's Den will release a brand new EP called 'In Tune', with on it the eponymous focus single. The EP reflects on different themes: the variety of perspectives on love, the search for introspection and how facial expressions can speak louder than words.

"For the focus single 'In Tune' we made the decision to record the song without the acoustic guitar, while it was actually written on the acoustic guitar. This way it creates a lot more space for other instruments (bass, saxophone and synths) to fill this in. The warm synthesizers, which are often being used by Timber Timbre and Devendra Banhart are a great source of inspiration for this song." - Matthieu Huijser

Lion's Den is the musical project of Matthieu Huijser. His melancholic folk is influenced by artists such as Amen Dunes, Devendra Banhart and Destroyer. The EP is recorded and produced by Dan Huijser (a.o. WIES and Someone). Besides that, Martijn van der Heide (keys), played an important role during the recording process. Lion's Den decided to go for a more 'live-sound' on this EP and together with Martin's expertise in electronic music, with synths, drum computers and organs, they decided to look for that specific contrast between the both.

In 2018, Lion's Den released 'Naoko/Time', which reached over 100k streams already. The EP was also released on cassette and was celebrated with a release show. In the same year he was selected to perform at the Dutch traveling festival Popronde, he supported Okkervil River (US) in Amsterdam and received airplay on Dutch Radio. His releases also got media coverage by the The Daily Indie (NL), Dansende Beren (BE) and 3voor12 (NL). In the upcoming months, Lion's Den will play three shows in The Netherlands (Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague) to celebrate the release of this EP.
