Listen to Absent In Body debut track in full; limited edition vinyl released today

ABSENT IN BODY is a collaboration between Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Mathieu Vandekerckhove (Syndrome/Amenra) and Colin H Van Eeckhout (Amenra/CHVE) their debut release is a self titled twenty minute opus. The debut track is out today, and can be listened to in full via the link below.

The release is part of a limited edition vinyl series, entitled The Abyss Stares Back, released via Hypertension Records. The record will be limited to 500 vinyl copies.

Mathieu Vandekerckhove created an accompanying video clip which can be viewed HERE. Of the video, Vandekerckhove commented: "The choking effect of corporate news and social media forces us to believe we have reached some sort of endtime. I wanted the video to portray exactly that, and the music also squeezes tight around your throat. Forcing fear into your heart, hope out of your being. We are Absent in Body."

Recorded throughout 2015 and 2016, across various locations, divided by continents, oceans, and time zones, Absent In Body is a complex creation exploring both absence and presence. From dream-like repetitions through to a nightmarish soundtrack of oblivion, Kelly, Vandekerckhove, and Van Eeckhout take listeners on a dark journey in body and mind.

Scott Kelly commented: "Absent In Body was born out of friendship and mutual artistic respect. It's something that came very naturally to us in midst of all of our individual and collective creative processes. I'm extremely proud of this song and I look forward to the three of us exploring the world sonically in the future. Hopefully this will all result in us getting Absent In Body onto the stage at some point down the line."

These are all just shards of thoughts, of dreams both good and bad, of consciousness both present and absent. They are all that is possible with these twenty minutes, with these three men. This gathering of present souls, this collective expulsion under the shadowy light of presence and absence, this remaining piece that will last after the absence is complete, all of it, is called Absent In Body.
