Listen to Kasabian - Ill Ray (The King)
With their career defining new LP ‘For Crying Out Loud’ debuting at Number 1 in the UK Album Chart, Kasabian released their new single ‘III Ray (The King)’.
Written and produced by Kasabian wizard Serge Pizzorno, and recorded at the Sergery, his Leicester studio, Kasabian’s sixth studio album, had the critics raving with The NME, The Telegraph, Mirror, The I, The Sun, and Q Magazine all giving the record 4* and the Daily Star 5*. Live, the band have never sounded better, selling out each and every show. They gave a ‘heart racing’ performance at TRNSMT last month and still have Reading and Leeds festivals to play at the end of the month.
The riotous eruption that opens the record and their incendiary live sets, Ill Ray (The King)’, takes the self-aggrandisement of the best hip hop diss tracks and delivers it with a fistful of Leicester-bred piss-taking. Serge explains, ‘I love that hip hop arrogance. I don’t think there’s any other band that goes out like an MC telling everyone how much better they are than everyone else,”
Kasabian have four UK #1 albums to their name and have sold over 5.5 million albums worldwide. They’ve won a Brit, seven NME awards, four Q Awards and have headlined Glastonbury Festival, as well as V Festival, T in the Park, and numerous festivals worldwide.
Kasabian are: Serge Pizzorno (guitar and vocals), Tom Meighan (vocals), Chris Edwards (bass), Ian Matthews (drums) and Tim Carter (Guitars)
