Listen to Thou Shall Not new album "I Am the Presence"
Metal band Thou Shall Not releases two albums after years of hard work and dedication. The band started working on their music back in 2017 and won a rock contest that gave them the confidence to pursue their dreams. The group is made up of Everton Caos Borges on guitar, Ulysses Freire on bass, and Guilher Luxyahak on vocals. Initially, they had Danda Brito on drums, but CJ Dubiella took over the drums later on.
In 2019, the band started recording their first album, titled "Synchronized Abductions" at Aly Fioren's studio. However, the recordings were paused for a few months when Danda Brito left the band due to personal reasons. CJ Dubiella took over the drumming responsibilities and helped the band complete the album brilliantly. They released a single called "From Thy Vanity" in December of that year, with cover art by Ulysses Freire.
The complete album was released in June 2020, with a cover art painted in oil on canvas. Due to the pandemic, the band only did one live show but continued composing and recording for their next album. In May 2021, the physical album was presented in CD format and can be purchased through the band's Facebook page or email.
In November 2021, the band returned to the studio to record their second album with all their energy and dedication. The album, titled "I Am the Presence," was completed in 2022, with cover art by Ulysses Freire. The band's goal for 2023 is to release both albums on streaming platforms and to find a label that will distribute them physically.
Thou Shall Not's lyrics touch on science fiction, fantastic realism, deep spirituality, occultism, politics, wars, historicity, and humanity. Their music is a fusion of classical, folk, blues, movie, and video game themes. The band members' diverse backgrounds and experiences have come together to create a unique and powerful sound.
The band members view themselves as composers, arrangers, lyricists, and rhythmists. They believe that they become one before the harmonic and chaotic algorithm of the universe, and their music is a reflection of that belief. Fans of metal music will surely appreciate the dedication and hard work that has gone into creating Thou Shall Not's two albums.
