Loïc Nottet releases "Candy" (New single & EP)

Loïc Nottet's works have always sat amidst the fantasy and make-believe worlds which inspire him, from the worrying burlesque of Tim Burton to the goosebump provoking tales from the crypt, comic book universes, Disney enchantment and terrors of Halloween... These enthralling, distressing human follies have been poured into Loïc's short film, at crossroads between the poetic and the petrifying, an old rendition of the Hansel and Gretel fairytale from his personal video collection initially sparked Loïc's imagination and led him to write the songs and lyrics : "I'd watch the movie with the sound off and let the inspiration come from the imagery, the sets, the costumes, and the characters...".

As obsessed with fashion as he is with dance, Loïc Nottet has always enjoyed creating his own costumes. For "Candy" he drew the original sketches, chose the materials and worked hands-on in a workshop in Brussels. This short film is a combination of the artist's many talents as writer, composer, director, choreographer, dancer and singer, where the end result more than matches his madly ambitious idea.

"Candy" is the story of a clown's descent into madness as he embarkson a quest for revengehaving been abducted by an evil witch who force-fed him sugary treats as a child, years later, he is on a mission to find her, followed by a range of zany characters each more unstable and unsavory than the next.
