Manchester Alt-Pop Newcomers Midnight Swim Release New Single ‘Tease’ Out Now

Manchester alt/pop-rock newcomers Midnight Swim are pleased to return with their new single ‘Tease’, released 1st September 2026 on all good digital service providers.

Following a recent support slot with Punk Rock Factory, an appearance at Lakefest, and a run of August dates that included a sold out headline show at Wigan’s Old Courts, the band will play a special album release show at The Castle Hotel, Manchester on 17th September 2026.

They have also added a matinee in-store performance at HMV Wigan on 3rd October ahead of a headline gig at Liverpool’s Kazimier Stockroom on the same day.

Commenting on the single, vocalist Jack Valentine says: “Tease is about knowing someone only wants you when they’re lonely, but giving in anyway. It explores that addictive pull between two people who know they’re bad for each other, where desire overrides better judgement, and one more time never really means one more time. It’s a hard hitting song about something that a lot of people have probably experienced in their life even if it wasn’t the whole 9 yards, exploring the idea of not staying away from someone when you know you should.”

The track is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming self-titled debut album, set for release on 11th September 2026, following on from previous singles ‘Shaking You From My Feelings Would Be Easier If You Were Dead’, ‘Don’t Wanna Talk About It’, and ‘In The Rain By The Car’ released earlier this year to support from Radio X, Amazing Radio, It’s Not A Phase, Highwire Daze Magazine and more.

The album was recorded with Callum Benson at Sheffield’s prestigious Steel City Studio (Bring Me The Horizon, Deaf Havana, Hot Milk), including a guest producer appearance from James Veck-Gilodi (Deaf Havana) on album track ‘The Last Song I’ll Write About You’, and mastered by Grant Berry at Fader Mastering.

At its core, the band’s forthcoming debut album Midnight Swim is a collection of songs inspired by the things that keep us all lying awake at night—the lingering feelings and unanswered questions you wish you could leave behind, yet which somehow always find their way back. Exploring themes of lust, loss, heartbreak, and self-reflection, it's a raw and honest record that pairs uplifting melodies with deeply personal stories, delivering upbeat, glossy Sad Bangers that are packed to the rafters with hooks.

Formed in Greater Manchester, Midnight Swim have been turning their messy emotions into loud, hook-heavy anthems since 2023. Blending sharp guitars and glossy melodies, their sound lands somewhere between Paramore, The Maine and You Me At Six, reviving the best of the early 2000s scene and bringing it bang up to date with super polished modern pop production.

Since forming in 2023, Midnight Swim have shared stages with Deaf Havana, Emarosa, WSTR, Arm’s Length, Beauty School and Thomas Nicholas Band, most recently playing alongside Young Culture and Happy Daze.

Their 2023 debut EP Into The Night was recorded with Callum Benson at Sheffield’s prestigious Steel City Studio (Bring Me The Horizon, Deaf Havana, Hot Milk), with the band setting out their already impressive songwriting credentials across 6 belting cuts of high octane pop-rock.
